New equipment for the Winter
Haven Hospital Cancer Center has arrived. We are now the only
hospital in East Polk to have IMRT – Intensity Modulated Radiation
Therapy capability.
Diabetics Life Expectancy Is Significantly
Decreased Due To Disease
According to the American Diabetes Association, diabetics are
2 to 4 times more likely to have heart disease (more than 77,000 deaths due
to heart disease annually) and 2 to 4 times more likely to suffer a stroke.
Heart disease death rates are also 2 to 4 times as high as adults without
diabetes.
