Living with Diabetes

Winter Haven Hospital is pleased to present “Living with Diabetes,” a series of four classes, which begins  on the  first Wednesday of each month  from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm.  The next series starts on July  2, 2008, with classes continuing on July 9th, 16th, and 23rd.  The classes are held in the Education Classrooms, Winter Haven Hospital, 200 Avenue F, NE, Winter Haven.  Topics covered will be:

  • Overview of Diabetes
  • Meal Planning
  • Self-blood glucose monitoring
  • Awareness of complications
  • Dealing with stress

The goal of the program is to motivate individuals with diabetes to follow their treatment plan, to enhance a full life, and to prevent complications. 

The fee for the entire series is $25.00 per family. No fee is charged for those who have previously attended the series, or those who have been hospitalized in the past 8 weeks at a Mid-Florida Medical Services facility.
